Songs of Advent
In the Gospel of Luke, we encounter three songs—the Magnificat, the Benedictus, and the Angels’ Song—each heralding, celebrating, and announcing the arrival, or advent, of the Messiah. These songs confront the human condition and point toward the dawn of a greater reality, one that will challenge and transform everything: the arrival of Emmanuel, God with us.
